Oh Pinterest, How I Love Thee!

I'm a Pinterest addict.

Not in a bad way. I am disciplined. I let myself on twice a day. Morning and night.

Trevor let me buy the couch of my dreams at the D.I. It is beautiful. I fell in love at first sight.

The day I found the couch, it was hard to say goodbye and leave it at the store. I went home and made Trevor's favorite meal and cleaned the house from top to bottom. When he got home I let him savor his food and then I pounced. I pleaded and promised and convinced him that this couch was perfect for our house. I might have led him to believe that it wasn't as big as it was.

Finally he caved and told me I could get it as long as I went alone and picked it up myself in the van.

The boys at the DI laughed when I pulled up and told them what I was there to pickup. But I proved them all wrong and it fit. barely.

Since I now have a new couch, I had to give my house an overhaul. This is where Pinterest comes in. I am so grateful for all the cheap DIY instructions that Pinterest has. I was able to do all the things I wanted, and for little to no money.

My new living room:
This bowl thingy just needs a coat of glazing to give it dimension. $1.75 and some hot glue to glue it all together. Gotta love the D.I. So it's a coaster, a candle stick and a bowl. Some spray paint, and it looks expensive. The balls are made out of yarn soaked in glue and wrapped around a balloon until it's dry. Then just pop the balloon and Wah-lah!
DIY canvas. They really are canvases bought at 50% off at Michaels. Have your pictures printed at Costco, paint the edges of your canvases black and paint a medium on the canvas to glue the picture to the canvas. Then seal the picture and you are done. Super easy!

Pillows. Made with old sweaters. You don't have to finish the edges. How awesome is that?!
Another one of those bowl thingies. I was experimenting and dipped the black one in teal seed beads. I kind of like the texture. The bowl still needs glaze to give it dimension.

Oh how I LOVE color! I still need to figure out what to do with my ottoman in the center of the room. It is half re-covered. I'm still not sure if I like the fabric.

I finally started my toy organizing project. Bookcases off of Craigslist. These book cases were AwFUL! They only had 3 shelves and then the whole lower half of each was giant doors. Tons of wasted space. I decided to make them into cubbies. I had to abandon the cubby idea though when I realized that I wouldn't be able to fit my bins in if I put the wood piece in the center. So now they are bookcase cubbies. DOn't you love the bead board backing? I just need to paint them and then I will be done.
Headband holder made out of quick oats containers! Awesome right? It's just scrapbook paper glued over the label.
That's it for now. But I have a lot more to show you. I am getting a little out of control!
