Just a few days before leaving Michigan, we received the news that my grandfather had passed away. It was not a shock. He was 99 years old for pete's sake. He was ready to go. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor and his love of life. He was a GREAT man!
We booked it out of town to try to make it to the funeral on time. We needed to make it to Utah by 11:00 on Saturday morning. We left on Thursday at 3:00 in the afternoon and drove all night and then all day Friday and then all night again Friday night. There were a LOT of prayers said on our behalf and we felt them. We made it to Utah Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. with just 5 hours to spare. Talk about being tired.
Here is what our "moving truck" looked like. It was atrocious but it did the job.
Trevor made sure and wrote all over the sides of everything. We got LOTS of honks and waves from people. My favorite was "goodbye one state recession".
After the funeral we drove the rest of the way home to Idaho. It is GOOD to be home. I love the way Idaho smells... nice and dry. My AWESOME niece Miss M came for a few days and helped get stuff unpacked. After Miss M left we took a trip to visit Trevor's Grandma. It was a ton of fun! My in-laws took us all to Bear World while we were there. It was amazing how docile the animals all were. They have a petting zoo for the kids and then you get in the car and drive through the bear part.

They tell you as you enter the bear section not to open your windows and not to stop the car. SCARY! Look at how these bears are up on the side of this truck! We were three cars back behind them. They were all over the place.
We have been back home now for about a week and a half. I have been unpacking like mad crazy. Logan has enjoyed running free as the wind all over the property.
He goes "swimming" through the sprinklers almost every day.
He loves talking to the sheep. They love butting him when he goes into the pasture, which has led to tears a couple times.
Samantha has been enjoying herself as well. Thank goodness the sheep have left her alone so far. Just a sniff and nudge here and there. And so fellow bloggers that is what we have been up to. We are glad to be home in Idaho, but we miss our friends in Michigan. I am trying not to think of how badly I miss you all.
We miss you already! I have been checking back to see when you would post next and was thrilled to see the update today! Glad you made it safely, sorry to hear about your grandfather. Good luck with Trevor and his next move towards lawyer-dom. You guys are awesome...see you for new years! ;)
