I absolutely LOVE Christmas. It has always been my favorite holiday. I love everything about it. Most especially I love giving gifts. My favorite thing is to plan a gift and make it come to fruition and then to watch the person I planned it for open it and watch their expression. And homemade is always best. My favorite tradition as a kid was planning and carrying out The Twelve Days of Christmas. This is where you pick a family and give them something anonymously on their doorstep every day for the twelve days leading up to Christmas. I just recently heard about doing this with a nativity. As in give them one piece of the nativity set each night. Last year we anonymously left gifts on people's doorsteps on Christmas eve. It was my sister Laura's idea. We just helped her carry it out. That was fun. This year we were finally able to carry out the Twelve Days of Christmas as a family. I loved watching my kids get excited every night. So much fun to serve others at Christmas time.
On Christmas Eve Trevor read the kids the traditional Christmas Train book (Pres. Monson). I love this book. I'm thinking next year I'm going to do a book every night leading up to Christmas. Anyone else do this?

We read different Christmas books all December long. A few of my favorites are The Christmas Orange, The Gift of the Magi and The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey (or something close to that) The only problem is I can never finish them without bawling! :) I love Carter's face when he is accepting his gift, he looks truly thankful! I also love the brick around your fireplace and the big picture of your kids behind your tree! (And I'm so glad you blog still as well, no one but the most awesome of people keep it up anymore!!)
