The Skin Experiment

I am retarded when it comes to my skin. I don't take care of it. I never learned how to take care of it. I don't have or take the time to take care of it.

However, it recently hit me how retarded I am for being lazy about this, so I got online and read all about how to take care of skin. This can all be very overwhelming, and truthfully this is why I haven't cared in the past.

I sifted through all the fluff though and now I have no excuse.

In case you are just as dumb as me, here are the main points: wash, exfoliate, serum, hydrate with sunscreen... and in that order. Ta-da!

This goes for your whole body. Except only use serum on your face. And you only need to do this once for your body every day, and twice for your face. But only wash your face once or it will get dry. The key here is hydration and sunscreen. DUH! WHO KNEW?

Not me. I'm a doofus. And a nincompoop. I can't believe I waited this long to care.

We love summer and our new house!!!

So our summer is turning out awesome now that we are in our new place. We LOVE it here!!!!! I love the people. Everyone is super kind and down to earth. It's very refreshing!!!! I have my kids signed up to do swim lessons all summer. Back to back. This is to make up for the lack of lessons the past few years. I hope that they learn a lot, because swimming lessons are not cheap!

I Kicked Myself in the Rear.....

...and then I went outside and took a real picture with a real camera. It really is beautiful.

It's safe to say I'm falling in love with this place. Of course, this is just a cell phone picture. All the pictures recently have been. I wish I could show you all just how beautiful this area is. I love to watch the fields as they dance in the wind. It reminds me of the ocean.

cooking anyone?

This move has been stressful. Some days I have wanted to scream and scream some more from frustration.

We have a ton less room than our last place. It is driving me crazy. Mostly I think the extra room was in storage; closets and such. But all will work out, because eventually what will happen is we will just throw it out and do without if it doesn't fit.

We haven't had a dining room table or chairs since the garage sale. Yesterday I hit the wall (so to speak) and got out the ingredients for making a new table ( because wood working is just like cooking, people!).

I am making the table out of two tables. One a pub table, and one a normal height table. Both tables have major issues and are just like peanut butter and chocolate; better together.

I will take a picture today when I finish them. And even though I want to eat on this table right away, we have to wait for everything to cure for at least a week. Booh.

In other news, I hate the lonely part about moving. We will go to our new ward Sunday and hopefully make some friends.

And I've been running the other direction from our house, and it's been so much better! Nothing has chased me so far.

Potatoes

I think maybe something died under our stove. I'm not sure of that, but the past few days I've been smelling a weird rotten potato like smell. The thing is, we have no potatoes in our house. I'm in no way moving this stove by myself. No. Way. I'm too afraid. Will someone come help me?

I started running again last week. It was fun clear up until the herd of cows started chasing me. I have prior experience with cows and jumping fences. They are nimble creatures. I was afraid the herd of cows were going to jump the fence between us and continue chasing me. Then a pack of dogs started chasing me. Okay, four dogs. I told them to get lost. Then they started biting me. That was scary. Then the dumb owner called them off.

It has been interesting living here so far. More on that later.

TEN

It seems like just yesterday that I married my best friend, but holy moly, it's been ten years.

There's no one else in this world I'd rather spend my life with; no one else I'd rather fight with. There's no one else I'd rather go through trials with; no one else I'd rather annoy.

Time to get this house unpacked. Ugh.
