Town House

So.... we've been busy. Last weekend my parents, oldest brother and his youngest came to help us. We have been plugging slowly along and chiseling away on this thing a little at a time. When people come help, WHAM we get stuff accomplished!

With their help, we were able to get the subfloor in!! That is so huge!!! Then this weekend, even though Trevor told me he had to work and do car stuff, he surprised me Saturday morning and we were able to go put up our very first wall!!! Get excited with me!!!! How cool is this?!

We also tore some more stuff out while we were there. I've had a few people ask why we don't just tear it all out and be done with it? The answer has to do with the size of our dumpster. We cannot afford a construction size dumpster. We have the biggest size dumpster they make without going up to the construction size, and yet it's still affordable. However, with this size comes compromise. We can fill it up, but they only come every two weeks to empty it. So that's why at this phase we are still doing teardown. We are getting close to being done though. I think at most we will only need the dumpster for two more months. I could be wrong on that, but we only have a few more walls of plaster to drop.

Anyway, while my family was here helping, my brother got the great idea to gift us a notebook of graph paper. Up to this point, not many ideas have been sketched out as far as floor plans go. I mean, we HAVE sketched out our ideas, but not with dimensions and such. So this week has been spent at the house measuring and drawing and thinking and drawing more and planning. I love this stuff.
