Completely, 100% Unprepared

I had a doctor appointment this week and she said everything looks good to go. And that's when it hit me. WAIT. WHAT?

It can't be time yet. I'm not ready.

I have a condition where my blood platelets are much lower than normal. This basically means I can't have an epidural during labor. If I were to have one, it would put me at great risk of becoming paralyzed. Also my blood won't clot as well and I bruise easier. I find out this week exactly how bad my case is.

I haven't had an epidural yet, so I think it's really no big deal.

The big deal for me is that we could be bringing a baby home any time and I have nothing ready! That's it. I've got to go unpack some boxes. This baby has to wear something!

I'm sure the time has flown by, since you already had 2 kids and are trying to maintain things without a hubby! Good luck!!! Everything will fall into place!

  9. Ugh, I had that same blood platelet problem when I had Maya. They had to keep drawing blood after I delievered and checking my levels cuz they were all jacked up. I think it was because I had preeclampsia with her. I feel your pain!
