I'm entitled to be grouchy now and again right? Today has just been one of those days. Come to think of it, I seem to feel down every Sunday night about this time. Maybe it's the thought of facing another week of joblessness. And then there's the Bar. That thing that is just hanging over our heads, hands waving in it's ears taunting "Nanni nanni billy goat!"

The stress is starting to get to me. You know I can say that here because Trevor never reads our blog. I would never admit to his face that I am scared to death and can't sleep at night thinking about this. I know I wouldn't be so stressed out if he actually had a job, not that it's his fault, or that he hasn't tried. He has many, MANY applications in right now, but I think at this point future employers are probably waiting for his Bar results as well. But what do I know. It is just a guess. I am just trying to justify and reason this all out. What a time to come out of Law School. Hiring freezes all over the place.

To top this all, the day the Bar results come out is the same day we find out if we are having a baby girl, or a baby boy. I'll be 21 weeks by then. I know. We have to wait a long time. But I am really trying to be patient....trying not to think about this all.

Of course I know that He has a plan for us...pass or fail. I know I will accept whatever that is and that I need to put my trust in Him. It is easier said than done and so hard to let go.

Thanks for letting me vent everyone. A girl's gotta let loose sometimes.

  1. How stressful! Good luck. Your right - A girl does need to let loose sometimes! Hopefully things keep getting better for you guys! Can't wait to hear what kind of a baby your having - although I think you should wait and be surprised! :)

  2. Can't wait to hear what you're having, I mean we really haven't heard much about this pregnancy so it's time for some news. Hope only good news comes out from everything.

  3. You are right, a girls gotta let loose and then you gotta get back in line. :^> j/k

Trust and have hope. He will take care of you. I can say that 'cause we could be out of a job in the near future and that possibility is almost killing me. I have to know (as Brett says) that we'll be taken care of. So that's what I say to you: All will be well. That doesn't mean you won't have more trials in all of this, it just means that He knows you and your situation.

Okay, I'll stop being the big sis now and tell you I can't wait to find out if you are having a boy or girl. It just has to be a boy, 'cause he'll be the best dressed boy around. :^> Love you!

  4. You expressed yourself so well, Alyson. It's good to put things down on paper and really look at them. Those are such real feelings and I can identify with those. This is a hard time. You have made it this far and are doing so well. Keep on trusting and pray like it depends all on prayer.

You are so blessed and will continue to be. Rely on your faith and hope. The best things in life, you already have!!!

  5. Sunday night seems to be the night. I was up late thinking about the same things! Only we haven't even taken the bar yet. I've still got a good six months of wishing, hoping, thinking, praying, ...and crossing my fingers. :)

  6. At least the bar results don't come out on the day your child would be BORN! That would suck! Oh wait! That happened to ME!!! Let's just say "prospective" is a powerful word!
We are really excited for baby #3 for you guys! Good luck with EVERYTHING!!!

  7. I love you Alyson!!! It is totally okay to vent every so often. I think, in my humble opinion, you need to take a few days to play with us and unwind. WE totally can come up and rub your feet....I HAVE done it before so you know I am serious. Trevor is awesome and I am sure he will get THE awesome job that is just meant for you guys!!! LOve ya.

  8. Alyson, I think everyone would be lying if they said they never needed to vent. Sometimes I need vent, but can't do it on my blog, because Scott will occassionally read it and sometimes I don't want to admit the things that are bothering me to anyone else but myself.
Trevor will get a job, and it will be great.

  9. Alyson -
if it makes you feel any better, I often think of you guys in your situation and worry for you - - that doesn't mean you need to worry more, just know that there are others who care about you and who will always be there for you no matter what trials you may have to face. Everything will work out, even if it's not in the way you think. I love you! Thanks for everything you do for me!!
