Plugging Along

We're all sick. Logan was sick last week and I thought we would all skip getting it since he felt better and none of us had any symptoms. Then it hit. First Phoebe. Then me. Now Samantha.
This is how I feel too. I gave Sami bubble wrap to help her be happy. But when she's sick she's soooo grumpy. Man her hair is OUT. OF. CONTROL.

We brought our blankets outside and lay in the sunshine. You'd never know we were sick.

Phoebe had fun smelling the dandilions

And of course she always has so much energy.

And Logan was rubbing it in that he felt just fine.

I just don't get how she can be so happy when she's clearly sick.

Don't Give Up On Me

I've been thinking again. Get ready.

Don't give up on me. I know I've pulled back and have been a lot less involved the past while. I'm still here and trying to survive. I guess things have been put into perspective and I'm trying to wrap up some remaining photo things. I've limited my photography and really I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

Just know that I am trying.

Breaking News!

Guess what?!? Guess What?!?

Even though my darn weight hasn't budged, I did my measurements today and I have lost SEVEN inches over the past month! I'll take that!

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

Totally Pampered and Relaxed

The funniest thing happened last night. The kids decided they wanted to pamper me. I was sitting at my computer finishing up some photos and Phoebe walked up and wanted to brush my hair.

"Sit forward" she commanded me, so she could climb on the chair behind me. As she was brushing my hair, I mentioned I was cold.

A few minutes later, in came Logan with a blanket freshly sprayed with Febreeze. "It has to dry" he told me.

Samantha grabbed the heating pad and turned it on. "I'll get you warm Mommy".

By then the blanket was "dry" so Logan put it on me and pulled it around my shoulders and up to my chin. Then Samantha put the heating pad in my lap.

Logan and Sami disappeared for a minute and Phoebe kept brushing my hair. Logan returned first with hair spray and water and a bow to do my hair. Logan then proceeded to do my hair and Sami came back with the back scratcher and head scratcher.

Sami started scratching my back and Phoebe took over the head scratcher.

By this point I was in heaven. I love being pampered. I'll take whatever I can get.

The head scratching and the hair doing were getting in each others way, so Logan left for a minute and came back with my old stuffed animals. "You love your stuffed animals from when you were little don't you Mommy" Logan said.

He put the animals in my lap. Logan and Sami switched places and Sami finished up my hair with a lovely GIANT flower. Then all the kids left. Sad.

I was really enjoying all the attention.

About twenty minutes later they all came back. Logan was holding a small plate with a cup of milk, a cheese stick, a yogurt and a piece of bread.

"We though you might want a snack" said Logan.

I have the sweetest kids in the world!

THEN to top all of this off, this morning the pampering began all over again!

I was sitting at my computer trying to upload stubborn files to my site and feeling frustrated, when in walked my kids with Logan holding a giant plate with what looked like a salad on it. Upon further examination I found it to be a layer of chips topped with lettuce, mozzarella cheese, toast torn up into little pieces and my "favorite" salad dressing. Next to that was a glass of milk and a yogurt.

"We thought you might want breakfast!" they said. Then they proceeded to brush and do my hair and scratch my back some more while they watched and made sure I ate the food.

"Do you like the food mommy?"

"Didn't we do a good job?"

What is with these kids? I hope it continues. Although salad for breakfast is not my favorite.
