I've Always Liked Weddings...

and I am going to one this weekend. My very first niece to get married. It is a milestone. And here is the scary part... I am the guest photographer!

Everyone hold your gasps and laughter.

I know right? I know nothing about this kind of thing. Freaking out just a little here. They are entrusting me to do the most important task in the whole wedding. If the pictures don't turn out, it's not like you can go back and do re-takes! You never can capture those memories again!

I guess this could either go really well, or I could crash and burn badly. Ready or not, there is no turning back now!

Hey! At least they can't hate me if they don't turn out!

What about that rant?

I have been getting a few calls this week about my rant post that wasn't to be. If you were privileged enough to get to read it, consider yourself lucky. I took it off the blog after realizing that it was silly and didn't need to be published. It just felt good to get the rant off my chest. Ya know? So let's move on.

Did you guys know that Phoebe is now 11 months old? I can't believe it either! She is scooting on her bum now. We call it the dog wipe. You know what dogs do when their bums itch. Gross, but there is no better way to describe it.

These pictures are less than stellar, but how am I ever gonna learn if I don't take risks? eh?

These were taken with stand lights at 10 and 2, with natural light at 3. And that is just for my reference.

family

This weekend we went to Boise for a very special baptism of my niece Kambrielle. Kami's family lives in the Dominican Republic and have been in the U.S. for a few weeks visiting. It was good to get together and see my siblings, their spouses, and my favorite... nieces and nephews!

It has been a while since we have been able to get together like this, and FIVE years since Trevor has seen a few of my siblings and their families.

This picture does not look right because Wendy, Jeff, Ben, Jake, Dillon, Courtney and Jeremy are all missing. We missed you guys!

And what am I doing anyway? Why am I standing like that?

Playing Around

Instead of sewing my pillows closed (hey, I sewed two!) I decided it would be fun to try out a technique I have been wanting to play with on the camera.

Logan is not fun to snap pictures of these days. He normally ends up in tears. So Sami was my go to gal! I think she wants to be a model when she grows up. She was really working the camera.

I went running tonight. It has been so mild and beautiful here! After a mile my shoulder started hurting. Any ideas what it could be? LEFT shoulder, and it was so bad I could hardly breath. It's a recurring problem. The first time I ever had it was in elementary school and I was outside raking leaves. Since then it has happened on and off. I should probably just go see the doctor since I have been putting it off for almost twenty years! lol!

I need a life organizer. Is there such a thing?

I think I am trying to dip my fingers in too many pots. Mostly because I am feeling overwhelmed.

Is it possible to be over stimulated by too much creativity?

My head is spinning with ideas. How can I possibly keep up with it all?

Here is a good one for you guys:

I half way re-covered my ottoman. That is to say I stopped half way because it wasn't really doing anything for me. I let it sit half re-covered for a few weeks while I thought about it. I have decided to stop and rip it off. I am going to go with another color.

Then there are the 9 pillows sitting on my love seat and chair. They too have been re-covered, only I never finished them either. They are PINNED closed. I promise I am going to sew them closed when I get around to it. Except the bishopric is coming over tomorrow night so maybe I should sew them closed tonight so they won't get poked when they sit down. It really hurts!

There are way more things on my list of unfinished projects but I won't bore you with the details. Just know that it is quite ridiculous. And funny.

Girls Night!

Okay, first off I would like to apologize to my sisters for posting these pictures. But I couldn't help myself! They are so so so funny! They were bound to come out sooner or later!

A few of my sisters thought it would be fun to come visit us at our new place. They left their kids and jobs at home and came to get away. Which is funny if you know where I live. Who vacations here?

We had fun deep conditioning our hair and scrubbing our faces. We ate popcorn and other oh-so-yummy stuff that made our tummies hurt upon waking the next morning. Speaking of which we were pumped to wake up and do our morning exercise which consisted of some of us running, biking and riding in the car. I only have two bikes so everyone made do with their exercise levels. We all met at the waterfall that is 3 1/2 miles from our house. It was totally fun, but not as hard on a bike as I would have thought. Next time I will run it!

After that we hit the book store, then pizza for lunch and they left. It was very quick and oh so spur-of-the-moment.

Thanks for coming guys! It was a lot of fun! Maybe we can plan better and everyone can make it next time. Only thing is, if everyone comes, we will have to camp in the yard. There won't be enough room!

p.s. We only have one bathroom

That is an ovacado mixture of some kind on our faces.
Actually I am noticing that there are no pictures of me with goop on my head. Strange. Oh well. LOL!! Very convenient don't you think? Here is an after picture of how the deep conditioner treatment made my hair very soft and easy to manage.
