Did you ever wish you were witty. Maybe a better story teller. Had a little bit more grace, or maybe more charm. Yeah. Me too.
The point. Hmmm. Yeah the point. Well there was no point. Just a random thought I wanted to put out there.
And now for some news. Some very good news.
My parents came home. I stayed up all night for two days finishing all the work around here. Painting, caulking.... yes I can do it all....even dry wall.
We ran out to meet them as they drove into the lane. It was so good to see them. They looked a little shocked to see the mud pit outside (unfinished patio). I told them to close one eye and squint with the other and it would look better.
They were happy to see us all and couldn't stop grinning. I made my mom walk into the house first. She stopped and admired the new door and I pushed her into the house 'cause there was way more inside to look at.
You should have heard her and my dad. "Oh wow! Look at this! I love the paint! Oh where did you get this? I can't believe you did all this!"
"Leon. Come look in here! The wall is gone! This isn't the same house!" There was even some tears at one point. It was great.
They left this morning. They went back to Texas to get their second car and they are going to some church history sites on the way home the second time.
And that brings me to the miracle. Trevor was offered a job this week. I feel overwhelmed and well I guess the strongest feeling is probably disbelief. It is most definitely a miracle. We are very grateful to say the least.
I will believe it is really true when we move.

My parents are coming home. Well actually they are on their way as I type this. They are stopping in a few places to visit with people along the way, but they will be here Sunday.
How do I feel? Well a little disappointed to still be living in their house. But at the same time very grateful for the blessing it has been to live here. Hmmm, I can't win that one.
They are going to flip when they see what we have done to the place. I will admit that besides being a bit stressed about getting all of the unnecessary stuff packed up and outta here and cleaning and organizing stuff that I am super duper excited to see their reactions.
This is a pretty old house. It has not been touched for a major remodel until my dad started the process by gutting the kitchen and building from scratch new cabinets just before they left two years ago. Seriously. How could he put in all that work and then not get to enjoy it.
So while they were gone we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. New paint and curtains. New plugs, plates and switches. New moldings and a front door. Knocked down a wall and put one up. New light fixtures, blinds, and a few new pieces of furniture. Installing a banister. Staining wood. Sanding and painting bedroom and cabinet doors. Expanding the sprinkler system. Moving a fence. Some serious landscaping and a new to us swing set. Oh yeah and one more thing. The best part. New AC and heat unit. Seriously. It is Heaven in the Summer. Goodbye oil heat in the Winter.
This will be a long week.

Attack Of The Toilet Paper!

Samantha has been going on the big toilet for a while now. Since she has been sick the last week she has been taking a long time to go potty. I don't know why, she just has.
So lately I put her on the toilet and leave the room for a few minutes.
Yesterday I was waiting for her to yell that she was "DONE" but instead I heard terrified screams coming from the bathroom.
I ran in there to find Sami sitting on the toilet leaning as far away as she could from the toilet paper. Said toilet paper tail was blowing in the wind from the heat register which is positioned below it as if it were ALIVE! She was so scared!
I thought maybe I had imagined it all except that today it happened again! Same scream and same scary alive toilet paper blowing in the wind.
Kids are funny.
I've Got A Golden Ticket!!!

Not.
But I wish I did. It has been a lifelong dream to win a golden ticket from a Wonka Bar.
Last night at the store I saw a stand advertising that there was a new contest going on to find the "golden ticket".
So I did what anyone would have done. I bought EIGHT Scrumdidliumptious bars.
I only had the heart to open three last night. And no. I did not find the golden ticket.
The chocolate is still sitting there un-eaten.
I want to open the other bars, but I don't want to be disappointed.
Anyone else as crazy as me?

The Other Day
The other day I was doing some goofing off around the house trying out some things on the camera. The girls were both down for naps so it was just me and Logan. We had fun making silly faces and taking pictures of random things. I totally forgot about it until today when I went to empty the pics off the camera and had a good laugh. Am I the only one who forgets about pictures and then gets so excited when I find them?
